Team XL has multiple free festivities scheduled to occur Halloween night for all base members.

Laughlin’s housing will be open for trick-or-treating Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. Participating houses will have porch lights on.

To make sure Halloween is safe and enjoyable for all, the 47th Security Forces Squadron with a team of volunteers has formed a “Pumpkin Patrol” that will operate from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Pumpkin Patrol will consist of two mobile patrols, about 18 volunteers on foot patrol, and a service and support station at Ribas-Dominicci Circle for any lost children.

"Safety is our priority," said Staff Sgt. Jontae Simmons, 47th SFS unit deployment manager. "We want our community to have fun, while enjoying their candy and costumes without any worries."

During this time, the Youth Center will also be hosting their annual 'Trunk-or-Treat' from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a trunk decorating contest, candy, cotton candy, games and a haunted house.

Another event is 'Spooky Tales Story Time,' which will be open from 5 to 6 p.m. at the base library. This event will consist of a Halloween story, candy and free glow bracelets for the children.

"Story time will allow families and their children to socialize, prepare children for the night's trick-or-treating, and give children some story time," said Sue Blankemeyer, 47th FSS librarian.
