Staff Sgt. Timothy Loudenback, 47th Security Forces Squadron standards and evaluation NCO in charge, was chosen by wing leadership to be the “XLer of the Week”, for the week of June 3, 2019, at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas.

The “XLer” award, presented by Col. Lee Gentile, 47th Flying Training Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Robert Zackery III, 47th Flying Training Wing command chief master sergeant, is given to those who consistently make outstanding contributions to their unit and the Laughlin mission.

Loudenback led this year’s “Police Week” celebration and observance, which aimed to recognize the hard work and achievements of law enforcement across the county, while remembering those who were injured or killed in the line of duty. This year’s events featured demonstrations, a memorial march, and the “jail-and-bail” event.

“I think nobody should be forgotten, especially those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country as security forces—that’s part of our family,” Loudenback said. “We want to make sure we pass on their heritage, and their names aren’t forgotten.”

With a deep-seated interest in community engagement, Loudenback coordinates as many events as possible to show the base and local community who the 47 SFS are and what they do.

“We have a lot of Airmen working their off time because of our schedules, so we can make these events work,” Loudenback said. “We’re going to have a booth at the ‘County on the Border’ concert. We’re looking forward to that!”

As part of his work responsibilities, Loudenback ensures that Laughlin’s security forces Airmen are trained and qualified amongst an array of tasks, all aimed to create a well-rounded, combat-ready force.

For his coordination with Police Week, his community engagement efforts, all while ensuring his squadron’s airmen are combat ready and skilled leaders, Loudenback has been awarded the “XLer of the Week.”
