Delgado 47th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The 47th Medical Group will be holding a blood drive July 3 from 11:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the basketball gym at the Losano Fitness Center, here. According to the American Red Cross, donating blood is a safe process and one donation can help save the lives of up to three people. Anyone 17-years-old and up, weighing at least 110 pounds and in good general health can donate. Children ages 16, weighing at least 120 pounds can donate with parental consent. Donors must present a valid photo identification card, last four digits of their social security number and verify birth date. Due to the extended weekend, all personnel on flying status will be able to donate at the end of their flying day. Individuals on flying status that are not actively flying will able to donate in between classes. "Giving blood is a safe and easy way to save a life," said Airman 1st Class Javier Perez, 47th Medical Group diagnostic imaging technologist. "Don't let the needle scare you."
