LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Laughlin Air Force Base is pleased to announce that it has been awarded $35.3 million in funding to renovate the Rick's Hall Enlisted Dorms.
The renovation project, which is set to begin in the coming months, will modernize and upgrade the living spaces for the enlisted men and women who call the dorms home. The renovations will include the addition of a kitchenette, new furniture, and appliances, as well as updates to the electrical and plumbing systems.
"This funding allows us to make much-needed improvements to the Rick’s Hall Enlisted Dorms," said Col. Kevin Davidson, 47th Flying Training Wing commander. "To combat the unique challenges of remote and isolated locations, this renovation project ensures that our enlisted are able to thrive as members of Team XL.
The project was made possible through collaboration with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The renovations to the Rick's Hall Enlisted Dorms are estimated to be completed within the next year and will provide a significant improvement to the quality of life for the men and women stationed at Laughlin Air Force Base.
