Laughlin AFB and Del Rio joined hands once again.

This time at the Dr. Alfredo Gutierrez Jr. Ampitheatre Sept. 21 to honor POW/MIAs and the families of those that fell in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The 32-min ceremony began with Maj. Gen. (ret.) Gerald Prather offering a prayer and memories of a fallen friend who was never found in Vietnam.

After short speeches by Mike Wrob, Mayor Pro-Tem and City Council member and Col. Mike Minahan, 47th FTW Wing commander, there was a 21-gun salute, wreath laying ceremony and playing of Taps.

"This was a true joint effort," said Mr. Wrob. "It's always nice when Laughlin and Del Rio come together and put on such a first-class event to ensure these heroes are properly recognized and families honored."
