Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training forms the backbone of Team XL's mission here at Laughlin, but few get an inside look.

Aces Flight volunteered to be highlighted in photos Jan. 10, performing a key piece of pilot training's classroom instruction: Standup.

During standup students go before their flight and, while standing at attention, must walk through the procedures and steps they would use to solve problems in an aircraft given to them by their instructors. It is designed to be stressful and helps instructors evaluate how students perform under pressure and in situations they may face outside the classroom.
