The Laughlin Air Force Base United States Postal Service facility has closed its doors.

The closure is due to changes at the Del Rio Main Post Office brought about by the USPS to reduce its growing debt by shutting down post offices across the country.

Postal drop boxes remain throughout Laughlin for dropping off mail but for more extensive shipping needs post offices are located at 2001 Bedell Avenue between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 114 East Broadway Street from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Del Rio.

The closure will not affect the Official Mail Center which provides official mail services to base agencies, processes administrative communication for on base distribution and off base transmission and personal mail delivery to enlisted dorm residents.

Official mail will continue to be dropped off by authorized unit representatives during normal OMC customer service window hours between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

For any questions or concerns contact John Willars, USPS postmaster, at 775-3571 or Master Sgt. Angela Avila at 298-9300.
