SFDR-CISD and Brackettville ISD registrations to be held on base Published May 17, 2012 By 47th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Laughlin's Airman and Family Readiness Center is scheduled to host a back to school registration here May 23 from 8 a.m. until noon for all grade levels pre-kindergarten and up. Representatives from the San Felipe Del Rio-Consolidated Independent School District and Brackettville ISD will be on hand to answer questions and help applicants registering for the 2012 and 2013 school year. "By hosting registration on base, there is no need to make an appointment at the district office and go downtown to enroll," said Janet Johnson, 47th Force Support Squadron school liaison. "Parents take their child's education as a priority and to be able to register now before summer starts allows time to prepare for the upcoming year and summer vacations." Johnson said the on-base registration is also beneficial for new inbound families just arriving at Laughlin. "It is tailored to the new inbound members of Laughlin who may not be familiar with the local downtown area," she said. "The registration is open those who live and work on base." She also noted that the registration is for new enrollees only. If a child is currently enrolled, registration is carried over for the upcoming school year. New students will need to bring the following: -Student's original birth certificate -Student's Social Security Card -Shot record -Proof of residence, must be a document with current physical address on it. -Parents' driver's license -Previous school records if applicable For any further questions, contact Johnson at 298-4788.
