2010 Fire Prevention Week Schedule of Events

LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --  Oct. 3 through 9 is Fire Prevention Week. The following is the schedule of events for that week at Laughlin.

Sunday, Oct. 3

10 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Sparky visits Laughlin's main gate to pass out fire safety brochures

Monday, Oct. 4

9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Sparky visits various base facilities to pass out fire safety brochures

Tuesday, Oct. 5

9 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Commanders and First Sergeant/Executive Officer Search and Rescue Challenge at a Landings at Laughlin housing unit (actual unit to be determined)

1 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Laughlin's Base Exchange: Fire truck display, portable fire
extinguisher demonstration, fire safety information booth, smoke house safety trailer and Sparky

Wednesday, Oct. 6

4 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Club Amistad Enlisted Annex parking lot: Fire truck display, portable
fire extinguisher demonstration, fire safety information booth, smoke house safety trailer
and Sparky

Thursday, Oct. 7

5 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Fire Safety Display at Landings at Laughlin

· Fire trucks display
· Smoke House Trailer Fire Safety Demonstration
· Portable Fire Extinguisher Training
· Starting at 5:30 p.m., Poster Contest and Search and Rescue Challenge Winners announced
· Landings at Laughlin Sponsored Activity

Friday, Oct. 8

9 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Sparky and the fire trucks visit the Child Development Center

10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Base Library, children reading session: fire safety video, fire truck display and Sparky

Saturday, Oct. 9

10 p.m. to 12 p.m.: Base Commissary: Fire truck display, portable fire extinguisher demonstration, fire safety information booth, smoke house safety trailer and Sparky
