Why she XLed: Bowen spent 15 hours and led 20 volunteers in the planning and executing of the single Airmen dinner that fed 140 people. She was a civil air patrol encampment staff member and mentored 320 cadets. She aided daily audits of 154 flight documents and initiated 38 operation corrections that helped to certify the accuracy of a $62 million flying-hour program. She generated 14 flight authorizations that enabled the execution of 530 flight hours in 704 sorties with zero Squadron Aviation Resource Management operation delays. Lastly, Bowen performed pre and post mission document review, and audited 1,600 training events daily, ensuring 156 instructor pilots were qualified to train.
