Why he XLed: Rodriguez serves as an additional first sergeant, and was responsible for the oversight of more than 100 personnel, inspiring a mind-set of excellence. With his oversight, Laughlin was 2nd of 12 Air Education and Training Command bases to complete their installation deployment plan. Rodriguez also managed a $166-million supply account and had a 99 percent inventory accuracy, beating AETC's standard of 98 percent. He identified a two-year government shuttle service issue, acquiring new resources to streamline critical flight line transportation requirements. Rodriguez also briefed a course on behavioral standards, guiding students and equipping five Airmen with tools for improvement.
