The Laughlin Outdoor Recreation Center is gearing up for the warmer months with some exciting adventure opportunities in and around Del Rio.

There are some exciting possibilities on the horizon with ODR. They are moving forward with providing boats for rent at the Southwinds Marina at Lake Amistad. For the true adventure seekers out there a jet boarding trip to Canyon Lake is being considered in the near future.

ODR continues to offer paintball on base, fishing, zip lining, rock climbing and skydiving trips throughout the year.

"Our goal is to give everyone the chance to unwind and refresh after the stresses of the week," said Fernando Brown, ODR section chief. "It is also a great opportunity for our returning deployers to reintegrate with friends and family."

Upcoming events include the disc golf grand opening Feb. 21, in conjunction with the Nonappropriated Fund sale at Club XL. The sale will include bounce houses, lounge chairs, boat motors and more.

"In order to keep these events available it is important for Airmen to sign up early to reserve their spot," said Brown. "ODR is also welcoming any individual willing to volunteer to teach a skill they know and love."

Those interested in signing up for an event, volunteering, or providing feedback, contact ODR at 298-5830, check out their Facebook page, or stop in at their offices in the Exchange.
