Team XL members host Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon

Members of the 47th Medical Operations Squadron are hosting a luncheon to support breast cancer awareness throughout the month of October at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas.

The event is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Oct. 17 at Club XL on to support breast cancer awareness during the month of October. Tickets for club members are $10.35 and for non-club members tickets are $12.35.

"The point of this luncheon is to help spread awareness of breast cancer and the importance in early detection and how it can be beneficial," said Ray Torres, 47th MDOS health promotion manager. "As well as help gather support for those diagnosed."

The luncheon features a breast cancer survivor, Mary Pierce, who will speak of the trials of breast cancer.

"This is our 3rd annual Breast Cancer Luncheon," said Torres. "Previous years have been very successful, and we hope this year will be even more so."
