Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas -- The Losano Fitness Center held a Team Cohesion Challenge on Laughlin Air Force Base, Aug. 27, 2016, to help build teamwork amongst participants.
The special forces member led the pack through a ruck march that was more than seven miles long and riddled with challenges along the way. The 14-person team scaled a rock climbing wall while carrying rucking gear, flipped tractor tires and marched more than a mile with a railroad tie upon their shoulders.
“It was a great experience,” said Airman Juan Loera, 47th Communications Squadron mobile knowledge operator. “It showed us how to work as a team while challenging your body to a whole new level.”
GORUCK modeled this challenge after special forces training and highlights the team element in overcoming “larger-than-life” obstacles.
The team reached the final rendezvous point with chests puffed out and heads held high as they received their very own GORUCK patches, a memento of the lessons learned throughout the challenge.
