Why they XLed: The group of maintainers and staffers sprung into action when an immediate action time compliance technical order was issued Nov. 13, 2012, which grounded the entire United States Air Force T-6 Texan 2 fleet . Meetings were held and priorities were smartly set, resulting in technicians expeditiously trained for the task at hand. The team's diligence and employment of extensive overtime assured 60 aircraft were inspected in conjunction with critical maintenance recovery efforts in the first evening and the remaining 40 inspected within the following day. The incredible team assured that 100 aircraft were inspected in just 30 hours with zero sorties lost and were the only unit to accomplish this feat in Air Education and Training Command.
