LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Job title and unit: 47th Maintenance Directorate tools and parts supervisor

Why he XLed: He is our most motivated, dedicated and over tasked supervisor. He has been key to ensuring mission and Consolidated Unit Inspection readiness. He was the key enabler to aircraft availability during component shortage. Researched critical T-6A Texan II parts data, helping clearly define issue to higher headquarters. Worked lots of overtime in light of manning and kept the unit's more than 120 CUI tasks on track. Lastly, he revamped seven programs including hazardous materials, consolidated tool kit and much more.

Time at Laughlin: Eighteen years

Time in military/civil service: Twenty-four years active duty and 11 years civil service

Greatest accomplishment: Teaching my daughter to enjoy reading and then learning about eBooks from her

Hobbies: Golf, golf, more golf and shooting

Bad Habit: None, unless you ask my wife

Favorite movies: It's a Wonderful Life; you just can't beat Frank Capra and James Stewart for a feel good movie
