After being closed for seven months for building renovations, the Laughlin Officer Spouses Club Thrift Shop has reopened.

With products ranging from clothing to household goods and electronics, the shop has a little something to offer everyone.

With its brown, windowless exterior, the thrift shop is easily camouflaged to fit in with the other buildings on base. However, once inside the glass doors, you'll find that there is more to this building than meets the eye.

Our shop is very well stocked since people come in and leave quickly as soon as they have finished training," said OSC President Myzsa Grandell, "Instead of getting rid of items they don't want to move, they often bring them to us."

Due to the shop being closed since last April the thrift store manager, Sara Powers, is expecting to have a lot of new products.

"Since we have been closed, people have held onto donations. Now that we have opened back up, we are expecting to have many donations and new products to offer," said Powers.

Along with great new products, the thrift shop will also have new, longer hours to better accommodate customers. The doors will now be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, except on major holidays.

"We found that we were not open enough with our old hours and decided that Tuesdays and Thursdays would be better for shoppers," said Grandell.

Keeping the shop in line with the season is something Grandell and Powers find very important. "Right now we are looking for donations that are in season household items and baby clothes," said Powers, "However, we do ask that people do not bring in ski equipment and snow apparel."

Whether it is for holiday shopping, just browsing or loading up at one of the bag sales, the thrift shop is sure to meet your needs. Do not miss out on this Laughlin hidden treasure!
