Team XL dedicates May hero workout to Lt. Michael Murphy

Over 20 total force Airmen from across the wing came together to remember Lt. Michael Murphy during the May hero workout. This month’s workout, “Murph,” consisted of a one mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats and a one mile run finish.  

U.S. Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy, died heroically in the line of duty in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005. After his death, he was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his bravery. “Murph” was Lt Murphy’s favorite workout, although he called it “Body Armor.” 

Airmen competed in different categories; body weight, body weight scaled, weighted vest, weighted vest scaled and beginner. Top performers received a day pass.
