Unit and job title: 47th Civil Engineer Squadron lead firefighter

Why he XLed: As the government purchase card holder, Miguel Chacon executed 31 transactions worth $22,000 to replace unserviceable tools. He developed a 10,000 pounds per square inch hose test procedural guide and instructed 13 firefighters on how to test six ultra-high pressure lines. He led the integration of 10 city and 16 military firefighters during 12 aircraft live-fire training exercises. These 12 exercises allowed the city firefighters to maintain their Federal Aviation Administration certification and four Airmen to maintain their DoD certification. As the quality assurance evaluator for a $15,000 cleaning contract, Chacon inspected three kitchens worth $20 million. Lastly, Chacon lead the fire department in an evacuation and search for the source of smoke during a possible fire at the dormitories. This effort safeguarded 12 lives and a $2 million facility.
