Why he XLed: Waszak is the 434th FTS's top scheduler and had 100 percent emergency procedure student simulator requirements met within six hours of the flight crew information file release. His performance in scheduling was crucial in the continuation of student pilot training. He is an outstanding instructor and was named number one out of 14 instructors in his flight for weekly flight hours; he flew eight flights and provided more than 12 hours of expert instruction. He is also called a stellar runway supervisory unit observer for directing the safe recovery of an aircraft, preserving two Airmen and $4.5 million.
