LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Job title and unit: 47th Student Squadron, executive officer assistant

Why he XLed: McKown organized and populated student rosters for Airman Day, ensuring that 565 student pilots were assigned to their correct locations with 100 percent accountability. He displayed service before self, volunteering eight hours to the 47th Operations Group picnic to help with an event for more than 900 47th OG members. He also aided in the execution of the flight-line driver program, by training and coordinating two new drivers, with limited resources.
