LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Job title and unit: 47th Security Forces Squadron Military Working Dog handler

Why he XLed: Gilliam aided his unit's leadership with 30 vehicle searches bolstering security forces and Air Force Office of Special Investigations interagency cooperation. The searches ensured zero tolerance for drugs was enforced. He coordinated a military working dog decoy class, training and certifying 11 security forces members for MWD exercise operations. He also exhibited K-9 patrol and detection skills for Girl Scouts, providing enjoyment for 27 members and raising local awareness.
