LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Job title and unit: 47th Force Support Squadron Manpower Operations superintendent

Why he XLed: Concepcion oversaw the review of the Visual Information contract, eventually eliminating it and saving the wing $762,000. He created a price-out program database for the Air Force Manpower standard and also standardized application procedures and streamlined progress, reducing the workload by 50 percent. He also earned a 90 percent approval rate and improved senior leader vision of $62 million in human resources. He drove the wing AFMS execution, analyzing 20 standards and aligning four requirements. He cemented compliance and averted three Military Personnel Section position losses. Concepcion is the Co-chair of the Partners in Education Committee, and he managed a book scholarship program and coordinated six applicants. He also awarded $100 to a staff sergeant and advanced junior enlisted airmen.
