Team XL is ready for the holidays

Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas --  

The holiday lights have been illuminated, making Laughlin officially ready for the holiday season.

The chapel and members of Team XL gathered for the annual Christmas tree lighting Dec. 2 and the Menorah lighting Dec. 7, here.

Both events included a brief ceremony for all those in attendance.

Each ceremony highlighted the importance of both holidays and the time spent together by families this time of year.

“The chapel exists to facilitate the free exercise of religion for all Airmen and families. Lighting the Christmas Tree and Menorah are means of religious accommodation, yet they also encourage people of all faiths,” said Chap. (Maj.) Richard Beyea, 47th Flying Training Wing chaplain. “Both events were inspiring opportunities to gather as a [Laughlin’s] community. And in the coming weeks, whenever we drive past, those shining lights will lift the spirit with the promise of hope, joy and peace in a conflict-filled world.”
