March Family Advocacy Classes

The 47th Medical Group is offering a series of free family advocacy classes open to all base personnel, ranging in topics from baby care to stress management classes, throughout the month of March.

 

 

-Third Trimester to Labor Class: This class is designed to provide the participant with information not only related to what to expect during the third trimester, but also takes them through the onset of labor, into delivery and the post-partum period. Handouts are provided. Spouses are encouraged to attend.

 

March 8, 2016

47th Mental Health Training Room

9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

 

-Teen Talk: This class will examine some of the issues teenagers face. Topics include: cyber bullying, building communication, wellness, abusive relationships and other topics which will interest teens. Youth do not have to be enrolled at the youth center to attend.

March 11, 2016

Youth Center
6 to 7 p.m.

 

-Dads 101: This class is for new dads and dads-to-be only. The class provides skills and training to care for a newborn. No moms are allowed.

 

March 15, 2016
47th Mental Health Training Room
6 to 9 p.m.

 

-Active Parenting: This class is geared toward parents with children 5 to 12 years old. Participants will learn to master proven discipline techniques that teach responsibility, discover how to use “I” messages and understand the value of logical consequences and how to use them.

11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

 

 

To sign-up for a Laughlin class, call 298-6422. You must be registered in order to attend each class. Classes are cancelled the night prior if there are no participants signed up.
