The Fit Bar, located in the Losano Fitness Center, is scheduled to have its grand opening, here, at May 16, 2016.

The new shop is part of an initiative to improve the quality of life for Laughlin Airmen by providing them with another place to socialize as well as a place to relax.

All plans and ideas for the Fit Bar have been validated by focus groups of Laughlin member’s.

“The name was actually an idea from a focus group,” said Powell. “The focus groups have been the driving factor in this project.”

Laughlin’s new Fit Bar will be open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to give patrons better opportunity to enjoy its food and services.

“The Fit Bar is going to serve healthy food options such as fresh fruit, vegetables and smoothies, as well as select Starbucks’ products,” said Susan Powell, 47th Force Support Squadron community services flight chief. “Seating and lounge areas have been upgraded and free Wi-Fi is provided for a modern café feel for customers.”

Leather chairs line the back wall of the room to provide more comfortable seating for customers wanting to enjoy the atmosphere.

“There will be alternate seating in the Health and Wellness Center’s front room for patrons,” said Powell. “[That] area will be left quite with classical music playing softly in the background to give a place for customers to do work if they please.”
