August Family Advocacy Classes

The 47th Medical Group is offering a series of free family advocacy classes open to all base personnel, ranging in topics from baby care to stress management classes, throughout the month of August.

 

-Teen Talk: This class will examine some of the issues teenagers face. Topics include:  cyber bullying, building communication, wellness, abusive relationships and more. Youth do not have to be enrolled at the Youth Center to attend.

-Stress Management: In this course, participants will learn to identify triggers to stress, appropriate techniques for relaxation and visualization skills to handle stress.

-Active Parenting - Courage and Self-Esteem: In this class, parents will learn new ways of encouraging children 5 to 12 years old.

-Toddler Fitness Playgroup: This playgroup will provide instruction to walking toddlers up to the age of 3, focusing on balance, eye- and hand-coordination along with other basic motor skills. Parents are required to participate.

-Family Advocacy Safety Education Seminar: This seminar enhances Air Force readiness by helping evaluate couple and family interaction, identifying healthy and unhealthy relationship dynamics, analyzing how attitudes and feelings influence behavior, providing anger management techniques, strengthening communication skills, utilizing positive parenting skills, teaching stress management practices and maintaining safety and security for all family members.
