Saving money one building at a time
Demolition work continues on building 257, which formally housed the base Library, post office, official mail center and marketing at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, May 10, 2013. The building is being destroyed as part of the Air Force’s goal of reducing utilities and maintenance costs 20 percent by the year 2020. Laughlin has selected 24 buildings, whose original work centers can be consolidated elsewhere, for demolition, saving $377,000 annually as part of the cost conscious culture.
