Laughlin Air Force Base student pilot graduates, Class 15-08, and their families tour two F-35 Lightning II jets on May 1, 2015. This Douglas A-1E was severely damaged in combat in South Vietnam. It is the aircraft that was flown by Maj. Bernard Fisher on March 10, 1966, when he rescued a fellow pilot shot down over South Vietnam, an act for which he was awarded the Medal of Honor. The A-1E flown by Fisher on his mission was restored and is on display at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, Dayton, Ohio. (U.S. Air Force Photo)(Released)
