Beached tires

LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas – A bulldozer fished out multiple tires floating along the edge of Lake Amistad Sept. 2. The old WWII Jeep tires were installed in the marina decades ago by the Army Corps of Engineers to protect the marina from high winds. Powerful storms throughout the last 30 years damaged the structure and ultimately gave way in 2011, littering the shorelines. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Scott Saldukas)
