Wing commander's final flight
LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas – Luis Ponce, 47th Maintenance Directorate, prepares a jet piloted by Col. Jeffrey McDaniels, 47th Flying Training Wing commander, for launch just before Colonel McDaniels’ last flight as wing commander May 17. Upon landing, as is tradition for the outgoing commander, Colonel McDaniels taxied through an arch of water supplied by fire trucks from Laughlin’s fire department and was drenched with a fire hose by his wife after exiting the aircraft.
