Friend, or foe? Blue Force Tracker to clear fog of war for next Afghan PRTs
FORT BRAGG, N.C. - Senior Airmen Dave Thomas (middle, facing) and Brian Haney (facing away) participate in Blue Force Tracker maintenance training at Ft. Bragg’s Battle Command Training Center. The BFT system uses the tactical internet, aided by satellite communications links when terrain features interrupt line-of-sight communication. That constant flow of information puts leaders at all levels on the same page. Airman Thomas, deployed from Ramstein AB, Germany, and Airman Haney, deployed from Luke AFB, Ariz., will serve as communications technicians for PRT Gardez. (U.S. Air Force photo/Capt. Ken Hall)
