Bronze Star and a Bride - All in a day's work for Laughlin Airman
LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Tech. Sgt. Natividad Ruiz, Jr., stands for a picture with his family after receiving the Bronze Star Medal for actions during a one-year combat tour in Iraq. Sergeant Ruiz averted a potentially deadly riot at his Iraqi Army Base when suspected insurgent activity threatened the base's food supply chain. Pictured from left are Natividad Ruiz, Sr., mother Delia Cook, Sergeant Ruiz, spouse Patty, and father in law Air Force Lt. Col. Joe Taylor, retired. Sergeant Ruiz married Patty the morning he was awarded the Bronze Star. He returned to duties with the 47th Force Support Squadron Oct. 8. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Capt. Ken Hall)
