Gearing up
LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas – In a dark room deep within the 85th Flying Training Squadron, East Carolina University Reserve Officer Training Corps Cadet 3rd Class Joshua Bynum suits up for a jet orientation flight in a T-6 Texan II. The Jacksonville native, whose father was a KC-135 pilot until he retired in 2004, says he has flown in small commuter planes and gliders, but wants to fly helicopters for the Air Force.
