Taxi ride
LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Twenty-nine instructor and student pilot spouses participated in the 84th Flying Training Squadron’s Spouse Taxi Event here May 29. “We really wanted to give member’s spouses a firsthand look at their spouse’s mission,” said Lt. Col. Timothy Biltz, 84th FTS commander. It was a full day for the spouses as they attended emergency egress training at the 47th Medical Group’s aerospace physiology, where they also received an orientation briefing in the altitude chamber. They also “flew” in the T-6 simulator, took pictures at a static display and received a tour of the control tower. After being fit for a harness and helmet, the spouses were buckled into the jet for a high-speed taxi ride down the runway. (Contributed photo)
