Boyscouts visit fire department
LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas--Staff Sgt. Jeremy Quintana, Laughlin Fire Department, shows Cub and Boy Scouts different equipment used when extinguishing fires during a 3-day camporee here April 17 through 19. The nearly 300 Scouts arrived at Laughlin from throughout the largest council in Texas, and one of the largest in the nation, to attend the event. Officials estimated that it had been nearly 20 years since Laughlin hosted a camporee. "Having the event at Laughlin brought in a lot more people than you would normally expect at a camporee," said Roger Ridley, event chairman. "This weekend, the scouts get to see a lot of things they wouldn't normally see anywhere else." (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Joel Langton)
