LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas – Senior Airman Zachary Ferguson, 47th Operations Support Squadron, weather flight, takes a manual observation with a Kestral to measure the wind speed and direction, temperature, dew point and heat index, while standing in the center of a compass rose on the flight line April 7. As a weather technician, Airman Ferguson’s job is to help give an accurate forecast of the weather so pilots here can fly safely and be prepared for pending weather conditions. He also helps put out weather warnings and watches to base members. “My job is interesting,” said Ferguson. “I really like it when the weather’s bad though.” (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Sara Csurilla)
