Laughlin hosts newest “Pilot for a Day”

LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas –– “Sparky the firedog” welcomes Jackie Salazar, 6, to the Laughlin fire department during her visit to the base as part of the “Pilot-for-a-Day” program Feb. 21. Pilot for a Day is a program that gives terminally ill or disabled children the opportunity to experience a day in the life of a pilot. Jackie was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma Cancer, a tumor of the brain. She was accompanied by her mother, Nadia Salazar, two social workers and the hosts of the program from the 85th Flying Training Squadron. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Senior Airman Olufemi Owolabi)
