German Tornado squares off against Laughlin T-38s for first time in base history
LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas – German air force pilot Maj. Axel Hoppe completes his post-flight checklist on a German Tornado aircraft from Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., that came to Laughlin Feb. 19. The major was part of an aircrew that participated in the first-ever training program with instructor pilots from the 434th Fighter Training Squadron that included mock dogfights.
