From WAFs, to manning the 'ma-deuce,' AF ladies ‘doing something amazing’
Tech. Sgt. Hattie Douglas performs a saline lock on Army Maj. Jesus Rodriguez. Sergeant Douglas, deployed from Detachment 030, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Arkansas, is serving as Provincial Reconstruction Team Gardez’ personnelist. Current combat zone medical protocol calls for administering a saline lock (more commonly known as an IV) to combat casualties because it’s easier to accomplish while veins are still viable rather than later when time might be short and the veins collapsed from blood loss.
