85th Bomb Squadron Reunion
LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas-- 1st Lt. Clay Quinby, 85th Flying Training Squadron, discusses the capabilities of the T-6A Texan II with Mr. Freeman Cox and Mr. Bob Ballard during the 85th Bomb Squadron’s reunion tour here Oct. 16. About 45 members of the 85th Bomb Squadron attended the event that included visits to the tower, RAPCON, the flying training squadrons and maintenance division. Members of the 85th Bomb Squadron worked as maintainers, ammunitions and weapons experts, gunners, and radar operators during the late 40’s and early 50’s on the B-45 Tornado, which was the first jet nuclear bomber in the Air Force inventory.
