Paying silent respect

LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Airman 1st Class Sam Kearney, 47th Installation Support Squadron, stands in silent vigil over a display honoring America's Prisoners of War and Missing in Action Sept. 19. Laughlin Airmen stood guard at the base flagpole in 30-minute shifts from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. in observation of National POW/MIA Remembrance Day, which is always the third Friday in September.
