LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas-- Ruben Medellin and John Sanchez check the cockpit of a T-38 before performing X-ray method of inspection here July 25. Medellin and Sanchez are both members of the Non-Destructive Inspection unit with the 47th Maintenance Directorate. Members of the NDI are responsible for performing inspections on the T-1, T-6, and T-38 aircraft looking primarily for cracks and other degradation factors such as water in the honeycomb, corrosion, or disbonding of the flight control surfaces.
