Airfield systems: Bridging the gap between nerds, jocks
Airfield systems technicians descend from a Digital Airport Surveillance Radar tower on Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, July 24, 2014. Laughlin’s Airfield Systems Airmen work day and night to ensure much needed airfield communications equipment and systems remain operational. These systems include advanced radios, weather forecasting equipment and tactical air navigation systems, which allows Laughlin to manage 51,000 annual aircraft sorties.
