A view from the air
Personnel with the 47th Flying Training Wing safety office and civil engineer squadron investigate the aircraft accident in a two day major accident response exercise on Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, Aug. 21, 2014. Preventing mishaps involves identifying problem areas related to safety and correcting these hazards before someone gets hurt or expensive equipment or aircraft are destroyed. Regardless of whether a hazard is identified prior to or after a mishap, safety related problems must be corrected as soon as possible after they have been identified.
