T-38 Talon black-letter initial flight
Mr. Juan Cedillo, T-38 Maintenance Division superintendent, secures a T-38 Talon after completion of its black-letter initial flight at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, Feb. 26, 2015. A black-letter initial flight is named for the maintenance documents that indicate maintenance issues in red ink. In the case of this aircraft it has been kept in perfect condition, with zero discrepancies. Built in 1967, this T-38 has been meticulously maintained by Team XL maintenance members to achieve this very rare milestone not seen here for at least 18 years. (U.S. Air Force photo by 2nd Lt.
