Respect, Connect, Correct: A Simple Mantra for Squadron Strength
In any high-performing organization, especially one dedicated to instruction or training, personal relationships and technical credibility form cornerstones to success. At every unit all-call, and upon meeting any new squadron member, I emphasize a three word mantra aimed to focus efforts on building credibility and strengthening relationships – Respect, Connect, Correct.

Airman’s Spotlight: 2nd Lt. Jessica Raab
Second Lieutenant Jessica Raab, 47th Force Support Squadron, community services deputy flight commander, completed her career-long goal of becoming an officer. Raab’s father was a U.S. Air Force pilot during the Vietnam War, which influenced her throughout her childhood to follow in his footsteps to commission. Raab enlisted after high school for college opportunities with the goal of commissioning.

Air Force scheduled to switch to OCP uniform
Air Force leaders announced the service will move to a single combat utility uniform, adopting the Operational Camouflage Pattern, or OCP, already in use by Soldiers and Airmen in combat zones and certain jobs.

Team XL gathered to support domestic violence awareness on Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, Oct. 2, 2017. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Laughlin Family Advocacy is reminding people of the support available to any who find themselves a victim of domestic violence.

Air Force Ball held at Laughlin
Laughlin’s Airmen and their family members took to Club XL in mess dresses and evening dresses to celebrate the 2017 Air Force Ball, held Sept. 30. The theme of the ball was the 1940s era, according to Capt. Donald Lewis, the event coordinator, which aimed capture the rich culture and history of airpower for the United States.

Laughlin, community renovate South Winds Marina
Laughlin’s South Winds marina, located on the shores of Lake Amistad, with 64,900 acres of water for recreational use, is one of the high points for Airmen assigned here. However, it fell into disrepair after a long drought, so Laughlin, several federal agencies and the City of Del Rio are working together to once again make it the Air Force’s premier marina.
