    Albert Garcia, a controller in the 47th Operations Support Squadron, proved everyone wrong when he competed in the 208-mile No Country for Old Men ultra bicycle race Oct. 12. When Garcia got run over on his bicycle June 9, 2015 by a hit-and-run driver, it was supposed to be a day that stopped many things for him.

    XLer of the Week: Gilbert Wheeler

    Gilbert Wheeler, 47th Medical Support Squadron information systems flight chief, was chosen by wing leadership to be the “XLer” of the week, for the week of Jan. 7, 2019, at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas. The “XLer” award is given to those who consistently make outstanding contributions to their unit and the Laughlin mission.
