  • Laughlin grooms civilian leaders with ALS opportunity

    Airman Leadership School is a five-week course that teaches junior enlisted Airmen leadership, management, and duties of the Air Force’s non-commissioned officer tier.     LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas – On the same day Laughlin introduces 11 new, combat ready military aviators into the ranks of the world’s greatest Air Force, Maj. Gen. Jeannie Leavitt, the Air Forces Recruiting Service commander and command pilot, visited Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas. However, she didn’t come empty handed for the new aviators. This Laughlin graduate and “hometown hero” brought with her 26 years of experience that all started right here, and spanned to see her become the U.S. Air Force’s first female fighter pilot and first female commander of a combat fighter wing.
