To ensure flying safety remains paramount in the airspace around Del Rio, Laughlin, and Laughlin Auxiliary Field, located near Spofford, Texas, Laughlin officials are asking all UAS, also called drones, operators to become knowledgeable and practice good general operating rules required to fly a UAS in the National Airspace System. This map shows a five mile radius around Laughlin AFB, Texas. The Federal Aviation Administration offers a free mobile application called “B4UFLY” that will show your current location and a circle around each airport that helps you determine if you should notify those airports. Laughlin joined forces with other federal agencies as part of Feds Feed Families donated and unloaded 6,100 pounds of food, Oct. 11, to Val Verde Loaves and Fishes, a volunteer-run, nonprofit organization in Del Rio, Texas, who provides food for those in need.

Default Air Force Logo New statewide law prohibits drivers from texting while driving
Effective Sept. 1, texting while driving will be illegal across the state of Texas as the result of a new texting-while-driving ban passed during the 85th Texas Legislative Session. The law prohibits motorists from reading, writing or sending electronic messages while driving.

All Laughlin members are invited to attend Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training Class 17-02's graduation ceremony Oct. 18, at 10 a.m. in Anderson Hall, here.
Air Force retired Lt. Col. Taylor Emmanuel will be the guest speaker, and awards will be given to stand-out members of the class.
Laughlin graduates more than 300 pilots annually.
