Why he XLed: Staff Sgt. Shaun Jackson acted as a key player in Laughlin’s Scarlet Hawk 17-01 exercise, portraying an active shooter and providing realistic training for 112 law enforcement personnel. Jackson led a 38-hour expeditionary skills training, coordinating land navigation training for 54 personnel, keeping his troops up-to-date in their training. Jackson aided the drug program administrative manager during a critical manning shortage, training 12 hours, administering 10 urine analysis and scheduling another 22 analysis, ultimately keeping the drug demand reduction program unhindered. He strengthened partnership with three law enforcement agencies, demonstrating use of force virtual training system for 10 people, setting future training prospects. Jackson also acted as the 47th Mission Support Group’s Air Force Assistance Fund representative, educating and motivating people to help raise more than $1,000 in a single week.
